Fees and Hours
I charge $180.00 per therapy session.
A session lasts 50 minutes.
For couples and families, the first meeting is a double-length session of 100 minutes. 50 minutes to get to know you and another 50 to make a difference in your lives.
I am a full-time therapist, working mostly daytime hours, and I limit my evening hours to Tuesday and Thursday until 8:00 pm – evening openings are rare, but you can let me know if you’d like to be put on my waiting list. Daytime hours are much more flexible.
About Insurance reimbursement…
1) I am not on any insurance panels, because if I was, they would force me to accept around $70 for a 50 minute session, when I charge $180. Maybe I could survive on that in Tennessee, but since they have a standardized, national, reimbursement rate, they do no grasp that this is the Silicon Valley.
2) In addition, they can deny coverage if they think that a client is not in enough pain to need therapy; therefore, they can stop paying me at will. That’s not a good business model, and I insist on being the professional that can decide if someone is in need.
